As long as you completely max out the rivalry or friendship part of the bar before the end of the game he will stay loyal to you. You can also romance him as a rival. second question: awakenings is an expansion of the DAO, you can transfer your save file from DAO so some choices you made in it will be reflected in awakenings.
its worth it just that it doesnt really give you the same thrill as the DAO. But still pretty good for an expansion, took me 10 -15 hours to finish
oh if you do transfer your save over and your original save has items from dlc such as starfang, blood dragon armour or many more, they wont be there, saying that, awakenings doesnt let you bring anything over from the dlc's with the exception of 'return to ostagar', everything else is a no-go
im not sure but i think i say my friend say that there was a patch with DID let you bring the dlc items over but your gonna have look it up yourself

Dragon Age 2- Dialogue options too small and blurry?
I just started playing Dragon Age 2 on the same TV I used to play the first Dragon Age. But this time, I cant even read the dialogue and i am forced to pick random dialogue from the tree. Also, the leveling screens writing is also too small and blurry and i cant even read that! this kinda ruins the game for me. You really ought to get both. Oblivion and Fallout both had a lot of repetitive side quests. Fable 2 has really interesting side quests and main storyline and the clothes, relationships, artwork, and items are really cool. There are a lot of little humorous bits in that game that you constantly come across, too. You can't personalize your avatar, though, only make it a guy or a girl in the beginning. You can, however, change and dye clothes and hair and put on different makeup, facial hair, and hair styles anytime you want during game play. I greatly enjoyed being able to change up my character and not always stare at the same hairstyle and makeup.
The plot in Dragon Age is phenomenal and you can choose from 6 different origin stories and there are several endings. You also have tons of different skills, specializations, items, and abilities that you can choose from. You can play Dragon Age through many times, because every decision you make can change the game play for you significantly, even the ones you make on side quests.
You can fully customize your avatar and choose to be either a dwarf, human or noble. You can't change what they look like once you start the game. You can only change clothes and they don't have that many great options in the game. Dragon Age allows you to control your avatar, as well as 3 of your party members. This makes for some really cool tactical advantages when doing battle. For instance, you can order all your party members to attack one enemy. You could select the mage to do a spell and while she does that you move on to your warrior and select a skill and then order your dog to do "dread howl" , while you paralyze your enemy with one of your talents. Dragon age isn't about grinding your way through levels and it really isn't possible since there are no consistently respawning mobs. Just play the game and don't worry about it. The only ways to gain XP are by doing quests and finding codex entries.

I have his friendship points up some but do you have to have them up to a certain amount before you can romance him? It's called "Bait and Switch" it's a secondary quest, it'll be in your letters in your Uncle's house.
For it to activate make sure you complete "A business discussion" it's a main quest. Talk to Varric in the Hanged Man, you can access the bar through Lowtown.

I've completed the game three times, and each time an autosave has been created upon completion, with all items and details saved, etc. However, I've never heard of being able to restart the game anew with all these items. The only thing the autosaves are for is for future DLC that can be accessed post-completion (like Awakening and Witch Hunt were for Dragon Age: Origins), and for uploading events of the game to future games, namely Dragon Age 3 which is in the making.

Well cracking games is never a good idea. There are legal issues and the fact that you can royally screw up the game. Just re-install your game and use the official patch. How do you obtain a dragon fang in Dragon Age 2?

Theres two Dragons you kill in Dragon age two one when you are clearing the mine out and you kill it on the ledge once youve run through the mine, this one drops the tooth. and one when all the miners die and you kill the high dragon below where you killed the mature dragon ( this is on second from last act if i remember correctly) and this one drops a fire gland. ( if not its the other way round on the drops).

Dragon Age 2: Does the Master Craftsman achievement have to be done in one playthrough?
...I just finished a second playthrough and missed the Ambrosia, so decided to do a third playthrough just for this and a few more achievements. Should i buy dragon age 2 for ps3?

I personally prefer Dragon Age: Origins. I feel that it's more of a role play game rather than the second game. The fighting style is more like Dynasty Warriors. However, the graphics in Dragon Age II are much better and your character has a voice rather than you simply selecting what to say. Now for your original questions: I haven't beaten Dragon Age II yet but the storyline seems to be long. LIke the original game, you can go back and choose other options, races, and classes. You cannot delete characters from within the game but you can go into the System Settings on your dashboard, then Memory, Games, Dragon Age and manually delete each file saved on the hard drive or memory card. My first playthrough I played a mage and when Anders blew up the chantry I had to choose between killing him, letting him go, or forgiving him. I've played all possible combos and finished the game as a bladed rogue. I found that fit me the best they do a ton of attacks and good damage with some bit spikes. My second favorite is mage with 2handed warrior close behind. I think the game gears you more toward 2-handed warrior over sword and shield warrior but that's just me. Also i think mages and rogues have the most upside and possible damage. 2-handed warriors do good damage but they tend to get hit alot as well. and there damage is split amounts several people which is cool that they can hit more than 1 person with each swing. Mages just blow stuff up which is great i don't like healing though so i had to keep 2 mages in the group all the time. The game doesn't give you a good lock picking rogue as the dwarf is more archer and the prince is archer as well and you have to add alot of points in cunning to get that up. So I found that making your own rogue with high dex and cunning really helps. Rogues get a cool grenade stun and a teleport attack that launchs you at teh person which helps move you around the battle field well. they can also stealth in combat and leave a dumby that the bad guys attack while you can sneak up and backstab the dude. thats how you have to fight the arashok guy.What is the best character to choose in Dragon Age 2?
Neither is 'best'. Pick the one class you most want to play, and play it. Thanks to the companions you have, you can have a well balanced party no matter what role you choose to fill.
As for stat allocations, you can apply the "2 here, 1 here" approach relatively well. For example, my class in DA2 was a 2 handed warrior. Because my primary focus was dealing as much damage as possible, 2 handed warriors don't have too many damage dealing active abilities and have skills to regain stamina in chunks. So, I wanted each attack to hit as hard as possible. I focused on putting 2 in strength, 1 in willpower for the most part.
However, bear in mind that each class and spec requires you to at least split points up between 3 stats because of gear. If you pick up something you want to use, take a look at it's stat requirements and compensate for them next time you level. To use my 2 handed warrior example again, I needed to up my Constitution to equip better armors.
If anything you can always search online for class builds.

However, bear in mind that each class and spec requires you to at least split points up between 3 stats because of gear. If you pick up something you want to use, take a look at it's stat requirements and compensate for them next time you level. To use my 2 handed warrior example again, I needed to up my Constitution to equip better armors.

As for which class you choose, just choose the one you want to play.

sadly no you can but i suggest you keep the charac seved be cause theres gonna be a dragon age 3 as you know so id just wait to just it then. I am struggling between picking a rouge, force mage, or going the templar route. There will probably be one more expansion and definitely a sequel. People who bought the disk for awakening received a card that said 2/1/2011, so that's probably when the next game is going to come out. The creators already confirmed that Morrigan will be coming back, though how that will happen is unknown.little ceasers jp cycles

How do i not get killed by fenris in Dragon Age 2?
I'm having trouble when you go into the fade to save the dreamer. I have Isabela Anders and Fenris. I got the right and after the demon convinces fenris, he gets one hit kills on everyone. What do i do?

Should I buy Dragon age origins or Mass effect 2 and which console?

Well if you like shooters, go for ME2 on the xbox.
Personally though, I love DA. The story is fantastic and the characters are really engaging. It's NOT a turn based RPG but the combat can be slightly sluggish. Aside from that thought it's a fantastic game. And if you get it on PC, there's a multitude of mods to choose from to keep the game fresh.
Mass Effect, undoubtedly is a brilliant game, but it just doesn't have the replayablity that DA has. Dragon Age's story changes based on what origin you pick be it Noble Dwarf or Wood Elf. Mass Effect, regardless of your choices plays out more or less the same. Me and my friend both found it was spectacular on first play but on the second one, it kind of dragged a little.
It's up to you and what your tastes are but Dragon Age wins out over Mass Effect in my book. Especially if you get it for PC.
Judging by what you just said, it seems to me that you would enjoy Mass Effect more than Dragon Age. Don't misunderstand me, I have both games and all their DLCs and I'm in complete love with both, however Mass Effect is more actiony than Dragon Age age, giving you a nice blend of FPS with RPG elements. Dragon Age is more traditional cRPG, with inventory management, party management, etc.

If you won't get Dragon Age Origins on PC, don't get it at all. The console versions were an afterthought and as a result suffer from horrible gameplay and graphics.
My advice for Mass Effect 2 is to get it on whichever platform you have your Mass Effect 1 saves, and since you don't play on PC that would have to be on 360 since PS3 doesn't have ME1. Personally though, I love DA. The story is fantastic and the characters are really engaging. It's NOT a turn based RPG but the combat can be slightly sluggish. Aside from that thought it's a fantastic game. And if you get it on PC, there's a multitude of mods to choose from to keep the game fresh.
Mass Effect, undoubtedly is a brilliant game, but it just doesn't have the replayablity that DA has. Dragon Age's story changes based on what origin you pick be it Noble Dwarf or Wood Elf. Mass Effect, regardless of your choices plays out more or less the same. Me and my friend both found it was spectacular on first play but on the second one, it kind of dragged a little.
It's up to you and what your tastes are but Dragon Age wins out over Mass Effect in my book. Especially if you get it for PC.
Judging by what you just said, it seems to me that you would enjoy Mass Effect more than Dragon Age. If you won't get Dragon Age Origins on PC, don't get it at all. The console versions were an afterthought and as a result suffer from horrible gameplay and graphics.

How to build merril in dragon age 2?
My strategy is to use fenris, isabella, and merril on nightmare. I'm doing well but merril is the weak one in the party. If you are a mage then you will have a revive ability in your special trees at level 7. Anders has an ability he can learn in his special tree to revive. There is also a potion that you can purchase latter in the game that will revive people automatically with some health and mana.
1. Anders has a personal skill on his Vengeance tree that I think allows him to revive party members.
2. A mage with the spirit healer tree should (I think) also have an ability by which they can revive party members (though I'm unsure as I've yet to pursue this talent tree).
3. A life ward potion will revive a party member upon fainting if they took it before the battle and the effect is active.
4. There's a 'grenade-type' potion (one that another, active character has to throw - any class can do this) that if thrown to the area where the fainted ally is, that ally will be revived. If you are a mage then you will have a revive ability in your special trees at level 7. Anders has an ability he can learn in his special tree to revive. There is also a potion that you can purchase latter in the game that will revive people automatically with some health and mana.

It's annoying. And who would ever use tactics besides those who play in easy difficulty ? I always make them only attack so I can stop and use skill when I need to.

The other two classes are warrior and rouge. Warriors can either use sword and shield or two handed weapons. Rogues can dual wield daggers or use bows. Like the mage you can customize your abilities and attacks and have a lot of freedom to choose how you want to play.
I really liked the game. If you are unsure you could stand to wait for the price to drop. But if you are looking for a fun RPG to play I think it's worth the money.
